I find this quite alarming

I know I shouldn't. I mean, it's not surprising. It shouldn't be anymore more troubling to see something I'm already aware of. But, it is. It really is.

Garfield minus Garfield

So, Dave found this, and I think it's pretty amazing. I'd like to write something really witty about it, but I find it a skosh intimidating to write about something so downright synical.

It makes me very happy.

In other news, I'm sorry I haven't posted much progress on my rainbow quilt. I've washed and cut all of the orange and red squares, and I've decided I want to purchase more fabric before I start laying them out & deciding on the pattern.

I love Queen Anne's lace

I didn't take any of these photos. I found them all online... shortly after a friend of mine told me they had never thought much of Queen Anne's lace, and that it had always just seemed "kind of weedy" to them.

Typical Saturday

We went to the paint store to get paint for the kitchen. We met a gnome on the bus, and

a seagull in the parking lot.

When we got home, I dyed my hair, and Erik dyed his. We then snuggled up and read for a while, an made dinner when we got hungry. I've recently been craving ginger soy sauce, so we made out own by putting ginger in the soy sauce bottle. So tasty.

Especially on lightly sauteed carrots, with fennel, Jerusalem artichokes, and parsley.

Next, we made cupcakes. You always start with picking your appropriate alcohol base.

(ok, so that's not all alcohol - we keep our soy sauce, oils, and vinegars on that self also. )

After picking a carrot cake with strawberry, and a mate-irish cream, we set to work.

These are filled with pudding. The mate Irish cream didn't taste much like mate, or Irish cream. They mostly just tasted like custard... which was ok with me.

This is how we sleep at my house. It's pretty redonk.

Spring 2007

These photos are old, from last spring. I have a few of Asha too, but I'm not sure yet if I want to post them on the web. This blog is blocked form search engines, but there's no password required, and I feel kinda weird about that.

Gail Wight rocks

Go to "Other Species Collaborations" - lower left. Check out "Crossing '03". I also recommend the Rodentia Chamber Music.

Better fabric photos

I don't know if anyone really cares about this but me, but that iphoto picture of my quilt fabric is driving me nuts. so, here are better pictures :)

The sunny week in February

A long time ago, when I first started working at the AAA library, my supervisor Doug mentioned "the sunny week in February". I've lived in Eugene all my life, and I hadn't yet notice this phenomenon. But, I started to look for it, and sure enough, pretty much every year, there's a false start to spring in February (or as even in January, as it was last year).

So I keep trying to get out an take pictures of the crocus shoots, and the lazy haze that's been drifting in through the fourth floor windows at the library. I haven't really done either, but I do have a few hasty dusk photos, and a plethora of lovely window lighting shots for you.

Also, happy valentines day to you, whether you celebrate with gifts or friends or zombies or cupcakes & porn.

Have a good weekend!
