Snow pictures from last sunday

It snowed again on Thurs, but Erik has had the camera. I've had to take pictures with actual film. It's been ... different. The shutter noise is weird, kinda clunky.

In any case, these pictures are of, dawn, lake Washington, snow, and Erik. Those of you who know me will know that there's one of those things I don't normally have anything to do with.

I love snow

My First blog was pictures of the snow, way back last February. Around the time Erik and I were deciding it was time to move. Here we are tonight, in our first Seattle snow. It's been pouring down big fluffy flakes for hours. Tomorrow morning, we're getting up to watch the sunrise over Lake Washington. I can't wait to see a thick blanket of snow covering everything.

A walk last wekend

We don't head that way often, but really, lake Washington is just about 7 blocks form our house to the east. It's a very nice walk - after maybe 4 blocks, you hit the "outlook" point, and after another few there's a teeny tiny little beach park on the lake. It's so small, it's redonk. But, it's lovely. The cascades and northern waters never fail to restore me.

Painting pics, finally

So, not all of the rooms are represented here. There are more that we've painted, and more that we've repainted. I'll have to post more pics soon!

The living room is currently a pale gold, with the bay window in bright gold. It's very pretty.

We had the dining room a "sunny lemon yellow". It doesn't really come through here, but it turns out that sunny lemon yellow is atrocious with wood. It gave me a headache, and we've since repainted in a spring green. pics to come....

The pantry is called "ginseng root", which I still think is an appropriate name. Super pale - a drop of cool yellow, a drop of black. It's Erik's favorite favorite room.

The kitchen is a hair darker and cooler than the pantry. a nice pale chartreuse. I've wanted a pale chartruse since I was... well, yes, I think I've already gushed abotu it in another blog :)

The entryway/computer room is a sage green. This room is right next to the gold room at the top. As you can see, this picture was taken before we finished painting. Normally Erik cuts, and I roll, when we paint. In this room, I had to cut in, and I got so bored. Erik has a series of pictures of me painting little melly, along with many other pictograms.

The cascade route

The train can be especially pretty on the Seattle to Portland stretch...

Thanksgiving

We spent thanksgiving in Eugene with Jess, and stayed with her family. I adore Kit and Marylyn, they have always been so welcoming. And they're house is lovely! Cute interesting things everywhere. I always love checking out their new additions.

Kitty slept outside the studio, in a heated kitty bed, watching the squirrels and birds. it was so damn cute.

And the morning light was lovely

We went to the holiday market, and winter farmers market.

There was an origami quilt, I really want to try. The technique has it's own special name, that I forget. But it is Japanese, and it does involve folding things...

I ran into so many people I knew, it was good to catch up with everyone. Here is Jess and Ren (we brought Jess with us)
