Weekend sewing : Amy Butler bag no. 2
After my relative success with the first Amy Butler bag, I started on another almost right away. This time, I used the pattern for the larger version, and I changed almost everything a little bit, and totally made up that little inner pocket. I got a little carried away, and the lining doesn't hang quite right, but otherwise it's pretty sharp. Plus, I feel good that I finally put my big Anna Maria Horner flowers and Heather Bailey pineapples to good use. Can you tell I've become a bit of a fabric junkie? I think the sewing is really just an excuse to work with all of these beautiful prints.

Weekend sewing : the heart headed man
Sometimes, I'm glad that not all of my friends read this blog! Because this little guy is a birthday gift, for a friend who loves hearts, and could use a little cheer. Erik doesn't think his head looked hearty enough, he said it was a bit more like a kidney bean, but I still like him. Little dolls are hard! and this was about as simple as it gets. I might stick to my apples and pears from here on out :)
The frog prince fabric on the front is by Heather Ross - and it's from her best and last series. I totally love the frogs, it was really hard for me to use some of the fabric! I wanted to hoard it :)

Cracked pepper (don't be shy with it)

butter
Yumm.

Whidbey island, second group
These pictures were taken on our way to Deception pass. They are from the dock waiting for the ferry, the ferry, and a tiny knoll just outside a thrift store on the island. my Aunt looooooves thrift stores, and this was a huge one, so my cousin Sam, Erik, and I waited outside, taking pictures, and listening to music.

Pride parade, 2009
A week ago, we went to the Seattle Pride Parade. It was so fabulous! I have so many pictures, I might have to post them in a few batches :)
This isn't the same parade you'd see 20, or even 10 years ago. It was very main stream in a lot of ways, but in this case, I think that's a great thing. I didn't hear one homophobic, judgmental, or negative thing all day. It was all love and celebration!
